Position Vacancy for Full-Time Deputy Clerk

The Town of Lisbon, Waukesha County, Wisconsin (population 10,369) is seeking a self-directed, outgoing team member to fill a full-time Deputy Clerk position. Starting wage is $18/hour ($37,440 annually), DOQ. This team player will process payroll, accounts payable, administer benefits, maintain financial records, prepare invoices and record journal entries. This position will assist with tax collection, budget preparation, the annual audit as well as daily customer service tasks. Applicants must exhibit a high level of customer service to Town residents and business owners by promoting a friendly, courteous and professional work environment.
Computer skills are critical and should include proficiency in the Microsoft Office package, especially Microsoft Excel. The Town of Lisbon uses Civic Systems Connect financial software. This individual must have attention to detail, work flow flexibility, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Previous office and accounting experience is essential.
A successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical degree in office practices and accounting, two years office experience and accounting experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
Lisbon offers a full benefit package including Wisconsin Retirement. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. The successful candidate is required to pass a background check prior to starting employment.
